The county’s Community Use of Public Facilities office will begin accepting applications Monday, May 24 for events in the Silver Spring Civic Building and on Veterans Plaza, according to a Facebook post from Eric Rasch, operations manager for the facility. The building will be open for events as of June 1.
The YMCA in Silver Spring will be one of the first branches of the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington to add pickleball to its programs, according to a press release. CREATE Arts Center is accepting artists’ submissions of works for the organization’s first juried art show, the group announced today. Artists from around the region can submit up to three images of original two- or three-dimensional art in any medium except video or film.
Montgomery County will again offer matching grants of up to $1,000 to help fund neighborhood events, according to an announcement from Silver Spring Regional Services Center Director Reemberto Rodriguez. Neighborhood organizations, block groups, tenant groups, civic groups and similar organizations are eligible to apply to help fund events and activities that “promote community engagement, encourage capacity building, networking and stimulate the local economy,” according to the message.
