From early 20th century silent films encouraging immigrants to assimilate to World War II films about refugees and post-war classroom films about the topic, see how America’s ideas about immigrants and refugees have changed — and not changed — over the the past century.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
In addition to being Co-Host of the Documentary Roundtable and a Docs In Progress teaching artist, Richard Hall is also a documentary shooter, editor, producer, and history buff. He is co-producer of American Feud, a documentary which explores historical and contemporary perspectives on liberalism and conservatism in the United States. He is also a shooter and editor for American Artifacts, a program of C-Span.
ABOUT DOCS IN PROGRESS
Docs In Progress is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to building community through documentary. We do this through a variety of programs including classes, workshops, filmmaker roundtables, and screenings of both in-progress and completed works.
