All of the Democratic candidates for local offices easily won their races, as expected, in yesterday’s general election.
The county’s Board of Elections is seeking registered voters to serve as election workers at polling places for the 2022 Gubernatorial Primary Election to be held on June 28, according to an announcement on the county’s blog.
The County Council voted on Tuesday to pass Bill 41-21, Elections Council Districts – Boundaries to revise the council districts in light of the 2020 census and a charter amendment passed in 2020 to create two additional districts.

The City of Takoma Park released the certified results of the city election, confirming that all incumbents held on to their seats. Mayor Kate Stewart turned back a challenge from Roger Schlegel by a vote of 4,083–2,386 with 29 write-in votes.
Incumbent Takoma Park Mayor Kate Stewart and all six current city council members are leading in races to keep their seats, according to preliminary results posted last night. Stewart was leading challenger Roger Schlegel by a vote of 2,912 to 1,561 with 18 write-in votes.
The County Council will add two members in the 2022 election with the passage of Question C, according to unofficial election results posted shortly before 1 a.m. this morning (Nov. 4). The ballot question garnered more than 62% of the vote for the change, while about 37.5% voted against the question.
