Arrest Made in Several Burglaries, Auto Thefts

Takoma Park Police announced yesterday that an arrest has been made in connection with several burglaries and auto thefts.

“Over the last two months, the Takoma Park Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has been actively investigating a number of residential burglaries that involved the victims’ vehicles being stolen,” police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said in a news release.

“On today’s date [Monday, June 13], through investigative means, detectives recovered several of the stolen vehicles with the assistance of the DC Metropolitan Police Department in the District of Columbia. Further investigation developed a person of interest who was subsequently located and charged with possession of the stolen vehicles and residential burglary.

“This is an open and ongoing investigation. Detectives ask that anyone with information related to these crimes contact Detective/Lieutenant Joseph Butler at (301) 602-4362. Additional information will be forthcoming upon the conclusion of the investigation.”
