Police Investigating Burglary, Auto Theft

Takoma Park Police are investigating a burglary and auto theft that occurred sometime between Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

“On June 9, at approximately 8:27 am, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7100 block of Poplar Avenue for the report of residential burglary and stolen auto that occurred sometime overnight between June 8 at 10:30 pm and June 9 at 8:05 am,” police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said in an emailed community advisory. “Unknown suspect(s) entered the residence through a basement door and stole keys to the victim’s vehicle. The suspect(s) stole property from inside the residence as well as the victim’s vehicle.

“The outstanding stolen vehicle is described as a light blue 2019 Honda Insight, MD Tag #7DS7456 and was entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) stolen vehicle database.”

Anyone with information about this burglary and auto theft is asked to call the Takoma Park Police at (301) 270-1100 and refer to case #220024722.
