Police detectives with the 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help to identify an SUV used by a suspect in a recent shooting in the 1400 block of Spring Street in Silver Spring.
Police arrested a 15-year-old male student today following an incident at Northwood High School. Staff received an anonymous tip, searched the student and discovered two rounds of ammunition, according to police.
The County Council last week passed a bill to amend the police department’s internal affairs and procedures regarding body-worn cameras by officers.
Charges are pending against a juvenile male following an incident yesterday morning at Montgomery Blair High School in which a male student was stabbed.
The Takoma Park Police Department is looking for residents interested in applying for the Community Police Academy, according to a community advisory. The academy is limited to 25 people who would like to learn more about topics including patrol, traffic enforcement, use of force, criminal investigations, canine, firearms, crisis negotiation and more.
Detectives from the county’s Major Crimes Division are investigating an incident involving a motor vehicle that occurred early this morning in Silver Spring.
“[I] just wanted to get the word out and warn everyone to park your car in well-lit areas, near a camera if possible. And if your car is like mine and often targeted for its converter, consider getting a shield or alarm.”
The Takoma Park Police Department’s annual Winter Coat Drive begins Monday, November 1, according to an emailed Community Advisory.
Detectives from the county’s 3rd District Patrol Investigative Unit are investigating two vandalisms that occurred on October 12 and 13 at Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring. Police have released surveillance video of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them.
