Police detectives with the 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s help to identify an SUV used by a suspect in a recent shooting in the 1400 block of Spring Street in Silver Spring.
The incident occurred on Nov. 11, as police responded to the intersection of Spring Street and Second Avenue around 5:50 p.m. for the report of a vehicle-involved shooting.
“The investigation by detectives has determined that the victim was driving her vehicle in the 1400 block of Spring Street when a black BMW X5 SUV drove alongside her. One of the occupants of the SUV fired multiple shots into the victim’s vehicle,” according to a press release.
“The suspect vehicle then fled on Spring Street. During this incident, no one was injured,’ the release continued.
The suspect vehicle is described as a black BMW X5 with tinted windows, and the department has released surveillance photos of the SUV.
The department asks that anyone who has information about the SUV, the suspect or the crime to call the Investigative Section at 240.773-6870.
