The county will open all purpose rooms/cafeterias and gyms in county schools for weekend use only from June 20 through Aug. 15, the Office of Community Use of Public Facilities announced. CUPF will begin accepting requests for reservations through ActiveMontgomery at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 11.
The City of Takoma Park has announced a facilities reopening schedule, according to a news alert.
Newly designated Takoma Park city manager Jamal Fox released a statement last week regarding his selection for the position.
The county has released schedule changes that will be in effect on Memorial Day Monday, May 31. County and state offices, state courts and county libraries will be closed, as will the Brookside Nature Center.
Jamal Fox, currently the city administrator in Camas, Washington, has been designated as the new city manager for Takoma Park by Mayor Kate Stewart and the City Council.
