Gold’s Gym announced on Monday that the much-anticipated Downtown Silver Spring location is set to open this summer, alongside the upcoming arrivals of Roaming Rooster and Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill.
The gym, famously known as “The Mecca of Bodybuilding,” will occupy the former home of Washington Sports Clubs at 901 Wayne Ave. A specific opening date was not mentioned in the announcement.
Following the closure of Washington Sports Clubs in 2020 due to its parent company Town Sports International declaring bankruptcy, Gold’s Gym and Uniqlo were announced as new Downtown Silver Spring tenants in 2023.
Uniqlo opened in August of last year.
