Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill: New Dining Destination Coming to Downtown Silver Spring

Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill will be taking over the location previously occupied by The Eleanor at 931 Ellsworth Dr. in Downtown Silver Spring, according to a report from The MoCo Show.

The Eleanor closed last year and its bowling lanes and fixtures were sold at an auction last fall.

The MoCo Show reports that the restaurant first opened in Owings Mills and then relocated to Laurel. “Originally, Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill opened in Owings Mills, however, the timing was just slightly pre-pandemic; the lease was up, numbers were down and rumors of some mysterious virus were spreading, Chido’s Tex-Mex Gill decided not to renew their lease,” General Manager Horacio Romero said to Streetcar Suburbs News last year. “After scouting various locations and the virus situation settling down, Fidel Rincon chose the present site [in Laurel].”

Chido’s offers a Tex-Mex menu with a unique take on various well-known dishes, offering a weekend brunch menu and a wide selection of beverages.

The restaurant plans to open in late spring.
