Progress is being made at the original home of Quarry House Tavern. No movement on Adega, however. FedEx Office to open new location August 22

FedEx Office will close its store at 1407 East-West Highway Aug. 21 and open the next day at its new location on the corner of Georgia and Wayne avenues, according to a staff member who spoke to Source of the Spring today. The store will occupy the majority of the space that formerly housed an Office Depot outlet. The rest of the space will be taken by Massage Envy, according to The Peterson Companies’ website. The leasing office is located in a loft-style apartment on the first floor of Bonifant Street, across from Montgomery County’s Lot 29 parking lot on the corner of Bonifant and Easley. Thai Market Closed; Restaurant Closed for Remodeling

Thai Market, located at 902 Thayer Avenue in Downtown Silver Spring, has closed. Their last day of business was June 28, with their lease ending June 30. It also appears that the adjoining restaurant is closed for remodeling, according to a sign in the door. Demolition work begins on Silver Spring Avenue

The houses, owned by The Fenton Group, are part of a property that’s slated to be redeveloped with an office building, retail and apartments. However, the property is currently for sale. County releases reminders for coping with high temperatures

People who are at the most risk for heat-related illnesses include risk of heat-related illness include infants and children up to four years of age; individuals 65 and older; people who are ill or on certain medications; and overweight people.
