Online Vintage Movie Night: Immigrants and Refugees

July 29 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Free
  • In a YouTube premiere at 8 pm on July 29, Vintage Movie Night host Richard Hall will share his curated screening of short vintage films exploring America’s history with immigrants and refugees, including early silent films encouraging assimilation, Charlie Chaplin’s take on the Atlantic crossing, post-WWII classroom films, and activist films. See how our views about immigrants have evolved, and how they haven’t.

Contact Richard Hall to learn about his work and documentaries at www.nerdsmakemedia.com/confoundinghistory.

Vintage Movie Night is sponsored by the City of Takoma Park’s Arts and Humanities Division. Go to takomaparkmd.gov/arts for more info about our arts programs and to sign up for weekly e-newsletter.
