The Montgomery County police have announced the arrests of three suspects in a Jan. 5 shooting on Ellsworth Drive, one adult and two juveniles, all from Washington, D.C.

Officials from the District of Columbia were joined by Councilmembers Tom Hucker (D-District 5) and Evan Glass (D-At Large) on Saturday to kick off the 16th Street, NW Circle Traffic Signalization Upgrade Project. County police arrested four men in connection with an attempted home invasion in Silver Spring, according to a department press release. The attempt took place on Pershing Drive on Jan. 23.

County police are asking for the public’s help to identify some personal items discovered in what the department describes as “a suspicious situation.” The items, which include clothing, were found buried in late summer of last year in Nolte Local Park at 200 Denver Rd.
County Executive Marc Elrich yesterday announced the appointment of Wade Holland, a veteran county employee, as the coordinator of the county’s Vision Zero plan. Holland, who worked for six years in the CountyStat office, will be responsible for a cross-departmental plan that has a goal of eliminating traffic-related deaths and severe injuries by 2030.
