All nine golf courses operated by the county, including Sligo Creek in Silver Spring, have achieved the prestigious “Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary” status.
The long-awaited Silver Spring Recreation and Aquatic Center held its opening ceremony on Saturday and featured remarks from Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich and County Council President Andrew Friedson, among others.
Montgomery County Recreation seeks part-time, seasonal employees for the 2024 summer season. Various positions are available, including camp directors, assistant directors, camp counselors, and lifeguards.
The Silver Spring Recreation & Aquatic Center is set to open on Saturday, February 24, according to Montgomery County Recreation.
Montgomery County Recreation will open spring registration at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 for county residents for most programs and activities.
The county’s Recreation Department will host camps this summer to encourage active and healthy lifestyles for children.
Montgomery County Recreation will bring back the free RecFit program in 2024, after issuing over 100,000 passes to county residents this year.
