Naz’s Halal Now Open in Takoma Park

Naz’s Halal has opened its fifth Montgomery County location at 7671 New Hampshire Ave. in Takoma Park, according to a report from The MoCo Show.

In celebration of the restaurant’s Grand Opening on Saturday, October 7th, free food will be served from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Naz’s Halal was founded by Naz and Kareem, two cousins who taught in the same public school in New York City. Based on their family’s lifelong involvement in restaurant ownership, Naz and Kareem started a food truck as a “side business” in Queens, NY in 2009. The company’s first brick-and-mortar restaurant opened in January 2018.

Naz’s Halal opened its first location outside of New York in August 2020 at Burtonsville Town Center, where its late-night hours — open until 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday — quickly made it a local favorite. The chain also has locations in Rockville, Germantown, and White Oak, the latter opening earlier this year.
