Police Investigating Airbag, License Plate Thefts

Police in Takoma Park are investigating the thefts of an airbag and license plate, according to emailed community advisories.

Officers responded at approximately 4:09 a.m. Thursday to the 7500 block of New Hampshire Ave. for the report of an airbag theft, police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said. Sometime between March 1 at 3:00 p.m. and March 2 at 4:00 a.m., unknown suspect(s) entered the victim’s vehicle by smashing out a window and stole the airbag.

At least three airbags were reported stolen last week.

Officers responded at approximately 8:55 p.m. Wednesday to the 300 block of Grant Ave. for the report of a stolen license plate. The vehicle’s license plate number is MD 8EZ6955, and was entered into the National Crime Information Center’s stolen vehicle database, Plevy said.

Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call Takoma Park Police at (301) 270-1100.
