Silver Branch Brewing to Mark Second Anniversary This Week
Silver Branch Brewing Company will mark its second anniversary with a five-day series of events beginning tomorrow, March 3, the Silver Spring brewery announced. The first event Wednesday will be the release of “a bigger and bolder version” of Sisyphus, the first beer the brewery released when it opened in 2019.

Two Silver Spring Brewers Join Campaign to Thank Pandemic First Responders, Essential Workers
Two Silver Spring breweries have joined other local brewers and organizations to launch a campaign to thank first responders and other frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. Denizens Brewing Company and Silver Branch Brewing Co. are part of #CraftingGratitude, an initiative begun by @TheBeerFairiez, a husband and wife team of Jen and Josh Beinstock that’s described as “a Montgomery County-based community social and networking group.”
Sligo Golf, Pit BBQ Reopen; Live Music Will Return
The Sligo Creek Golf Course and a renovated Sligo Pit BBQ have reopened for the season and live music will return this year, according to team leader Laura Russell. The Friday night free concerts will kick off June 5 with The Loose Ends and a special appearance by County Executive Marc Elrich.

Saturday, Scrum Con 2020 for role-playing and war game fans comes to the Silver Spring Civic Building. Opportunities for civic engagement include a WMATA town hall on Monday to discuss budget and proposed route changes, a workshop on proposed RideOn route changes on Tuesday, and a discussion of budgets and other issues affecting public parking in Silver Spring on Wednesday.
