Revels Seeking Children, Teens for Holiday Performance

Washington Revels is now scheduling appointments with children and teenagers who are interested in auditioning for 2019’s The Christmas Revels, according to an announcement from the organization.

The group is looking for children entering grades 3-5 and teens entering grades 9-12 in the fall of 2019 for the production of “Celestial Fools.”

The show is scheduled for Dec. 7-15 in Lisner Auditorium at George Washington University.

“As the days grow short, a trio of traveling players from far-off lands arrives in a small European village, sharing the rich tapestry of their cultures’ music, dances, and stories with the townsfolk,” the show’s description reads. “But when the darkest night finally arrives, these visitors reveal themselves to be far more than simple entertainers and they embark on a celestial journey to reclaim the light and restore its warmth to the world.”

Auditions and most rehearsals will be held in the Revels studio space at 531 Dale Dr. in Silver Spring. Appointments are required for an audition.

Children’s auditions are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 6 and 7, with callbacks on Sunday, Sept. 8. Auditions for teens will be held in the afternoon of Sept. 7.
