Willie T’s closed last month to renovate and reopen as Milk & Honey.
Chef Sammy Davis, a Chopped: Redemption champion and former Nobu chef, opened Milk & Honey Cafe in Beltsville in 2015 and quickly expanded (video below). Thompson acquired the soul food chain in 2020 and renamed it Milk & Honey.
In 2021, Matchbox added Milk & Honey’s brunch items to its menu, which included jumbo smothered chicken and biscuits, shrimp and grits, crab hash, Cajun shrimp pasta, RumChata French toast, and honey butter biscuits.
Davis is still involved in the concept, according to Eater. Milk & Honey opened a location at The Wharf in May, serving Davis’ Carolina shrimp-and-cheese grits and fried chicken, eggs, and big biscuits topped with Cajun sauce.
The restaurant’s website describes the Silver Spring location as a quick-service restaurant with counter service, carry-out, and alcohol, as well as online ordering and pickup. The restaurant is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
