Police: Wanted Murder Suspect Turns Himself In

Montgomery County Police say that Lawrence Marcellus Marshall IV, 20, has been arrested in connection with a homicide committed on July 5.

Marshall IV turned himself in Thursday at the Montgomery County Department of Police 6th District Station in Gaithersburg. Marshall IV was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of 40-year-old Cedric Warner of Silver Spring.

Marshall IV, of Montgomery Village, is alleged to have shot and killed Warner on July 5 in the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive. After arriving at the scene, officers found Warner suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside an apartment. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to an MCPD press release.

In the course of the investigation, homicide detectives identified Marshall IV as the suspect, and a warrant for his arrest was issued on July 21. A warrant charging Marshall IV with first-degree murder was served on him at the Central Processing Unit, where he is awaiting a hearing on his bond.

The investigation is ongoing, MCPD said.
