Police: Montgomery Village Man Wanted for Murder

Detectives from the county’s Homicide Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted for a July 5 murder.

Police have issued an arrest warrant for 20-year-old Lawrence Marcellus Marshall, IV, of Montgomery Village, the suspect in the fatal shooting of 40-year-old Cederic Allen Warner of Silver Spring.

Marshall shot and killed Warner in the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive on July 5, according to an MCPD news release.

At approximately 9:51 p.m. on July 5, Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service personnel and 3rd District officers were dispatched to the location for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered Warner suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside an apartment. The officers provided life-saving measures until the county’s Fire & Rescue Service arrived, however, Warner was pronounced dead at the scene, MCPD said.
