Report: Kusshi Sushi To Open “Later This Summer”

Kusshi Sushi will open in Downtown Silver Spring “later this summer”, according to a report from The MoCo Show.

We reported last year that Kusshi Ko would be opening in the space formerly occupied by Gusto Farm to Street at 8512 Fenton St. in the Downtown Silver Spring development. The MoCo Show reports that because of issues regarding approval of the restaurant’s signage, they dropped the “Ko” from the name and will now be known as Kusshi Sushi, similar to their location at Pike & Rose.

Owner Wesley Yao — who also owns Hanaro Sushi in Bethesda, Poke Dojo in Bethesda, and Kusshi Sushi in North Bethesda — had previously said that the quick-service restaurant concept will serve Donburi (rice bowls), ramen, poke, and sushi rolls, according to reports. However, with the name change to Kusshi Sushi, the menu will be a similar, yet abbreviated version of the Pike & Rose location.
