Almost all of the businesses in Spring Center in the 8600 block of 16th Street are now closed or relocated in anticipation of Purple Line construction. Businesses still operating in the center are Patient First urgent care center, Famous Pawnbrokers, El Aguila and the post office. The owner of the popular Zed’s Café on Georgia Avenue is planning a new restaurant and music venue on Colesville Road down the block from The Fillmore Silver Spring. Report: Urban Butcher owner planning second Silver Spring restaurant

Raynold Mandizabal, the chef-owner of Urban Butcher on Georgia Avenue, plans to open a second restaurant in Central, the new development on the corner of Fenton Street and Wayne Avenue. The news was reported by the Washington Business Journal, which cited a leasing representative from Grosvenor Americas, Central’s developer, as the source of the information. County’s annual leaf pick up program begins next week

The district boundaries are the Beltway, I-270, Rockville city limits, Norbeck, Bel Pre and Bonifant roads, the Northwest Branch Park and the lines with the District of Columbia and Prince George’s County. The collections are handled by trucks from the Division of Highway Services. Hundreds of zombies and their friends swarmed the streets of Silver Spring for the annual Zombie Walk.
