Departments, groups create downtown pop-ups for PARK(ing) Day

Several county departments and other organizations created pop-up spaces along Fenton Street and Ellsworth Drive in Silver Spring Friday to mark International PARK(ing) Day. “PARK(ing) Day is a annual, open-source, global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into “PARK(ing)” spaces: temporary public places,” according to the IPD website.
