Matchbox Vintage Pizza Bistro has opened a hiring center for its new outlet on Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring.

The center is located in a storefront between Panera Bread and Red Lobster at 8537 Georgia Ave. and is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

Potential applicants may apply in person or online. For the Silver Spring location, the company is seeking a host, a bartender, servers and support staff, along with pizza, prep and line cooks.

The restaurant will replace Hen Quarter, which closed in October 2018; Matchbox is owned by Thomson Hospitality, which also owns Hen Quarter, American Tap Room and Austin Grill, among other concepts.

In addition to pizza, Matchbox’s typical menu includes salmon, ribs, steak frites, short ribs, shrimp and grits and other entrees, along with burgers, salads and sandwiches.
