Theft Warning: Takoma Park Police Respond to Unlocked Vehicle Incident at Gas Station

Police in Takoma Park advise residents not to leave vehicles unlocked while refueling at gas stations to prevent theft incidents.

Police spokesperson Cathy Plevy stated that on Tuesday at around 9:42 a.m., the Takoma Park Police received a report of theft from a vehicle at the Sunoco gas station on New Hampshire Ave. According to Plevy, while the victim was inside the store, two unidentified male suspects approached the victim’s vehicle in a late model blue BMW with D.C. tags. One of the suspects got out of the BMW, took belongings from the victim’s car, and then got back into the BMW, which drove off south on New Hampshire Ave. towards the District.
