Takoma Park Police Seek Suspects in Gunpoint Attempted Robbery

Two individuals attacked a man with a gun in an attempted robbery on January 28 in Takoma Park, according to police.

Takoma Park Police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said that the incident took place at around 10:52 p.m. on January 28 in the 6300 block of Eastern Ave. The victim, who was heading to his residence, was confronted by two male suspects dressed in all black and wearing ski masks. One of the suspects brandished a handgun and tried to take the victim’s belongings by force. The victim resisted and was subsequently assaulted. The attempted armed robbery was interrupted by a witness, leading the two suspects to flee in a red sedan.

A lookout has been issued to all surrounding jurisdictions. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment but did not sustain serious physical injuries, Plevy said.
