Suspects Sought in Assault at Wells Fargo ATM

Takoma Park Police need help identifying four suspects who were involved in an assault at a Wells Fargo Bank ATM last Saturday afternoon.

Police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said via email that on Saturday, Dec. 16 around 1:20 p.m., Takoma Park Police went to the 1100 block of University Blvd. in response to an assault at the Wells Fargo Bank ATM. The victim was attacked by four unknown male suspects at the ATM. A witness intervened by shouting at them to stop, causing all four suspects to flee in a gray Honda Civic with Maryland tags, heading southbound toward New Hampshire Ave.

It was later discovered that the vehicle driven by the suspects had been stolen from the District, according to Plevy.

Police described one suspect as a black male, last seen wearing a black ski mask, gray shirt, blue jeans, and a black vest. The descriptions of the other three suspects are unknown.

The victim was not seriously physically injured, and lookout information was provided to all surrounding jurisdictions. The investigation is ongoing, Plevy said.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Takoma Park Police at (301) 270-1100 and refer to case #230072055.
