Police: Armed Robbery, Assault Suspects Sought

Takoma Park Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects who were involved in an armed robbery and assault at a Capital One Bank ATM on Tuesday night.

At 11:08 p.m. on December 12, Takoma Park Police were called to the 1100 block of University Blvd. for an armed robbery. Police spokesperson Cathy Plevy reported that the victim was robbed at gunpoint at the outdoor ATM of Capital One Bank. One suspect held the victim at gunpoint while another searched the victim’s vehicle. The suspects fled southbound on New Hampshire Ave. towards the District in a black Lexus SUV with an unknown Virginia registration.

Police described one of the suspects as a black male, last seen wearing a black ski mask, a green winter jacket with fur around the hood, and armed with a silver handgun. The other suspect is described as a black male, last seen wearing a black ski mask, and a black winter jacket with fur around the hood.

The victim did not suffer serious physical injuries. Lookout information has been shared with all nearby jurisdictions, and the investigation is still ongoing, according to Plevy.
