People’s Book in Takoma Park to Expand Store Hours

People’s Book in Takoma Park will extend its operating hours to 9 a.m.-8 p.m. daily beginning Monday, November 13.

Announcing the new hours on Instagram on Thursday, People’s Book said the change was due to popular demand:

“We heard you. Let’s do this. If you think we’re open….we’re open. Come on by morning, noon and night.”

Independent bookstore People’s Book opened in June at 7014-A Westmoreland Ave. in Takoma Park. Over 13,000 books are available in the store, with a special focus on children’s literature, local interests, new releases, and independent magazines. A variety of book-themed gifts, locally roasted drip coffee, kombucha, and other treats are also available.

People’s Book and Motorkat, another Takoma Park newcomer, were featured in a July ribbon-cutting ceremony.
