Takoma Park Police Investigating Reports of Shots Fired

Takoma Park Police are investigating three reports of shots fired in recent days, according to emailed community advisories.

Officers responded at approximately 12:47 p.m. on Feb. 12 to the area of Hudson Ave. and Roanoke Ave. in response to multiple reports of shots being fired, police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said. Officers patrolled the area on foot in search of suspects, potential victims, and casings. The officers discovered seven shell casings indicative of the discharge of a weapon; the shell casings were impounded.

Several anonymous tips regarding possible suspects and vehicle descriptions have been left through the Takoma Park anonymous tip line, Plevy said.

Moreover, on Feb. 11 at approximately 9:57 p.m., officers responded to the area of Kennebec Ave. near Sligo Creek Parkway for a report of possible gunfire. Officers were unable to locate any suspects, potential victims, or casings during a foot search. Additionally, the Park Police were notified.

Additionally, officers responded at approximately 12:00 a.m. on Feb. 10 to the area of Sligo Creek Parkway and Flower Ave. in response to multiple reports of shots being fired. Officers searched the area on foot for suspects, potential victims, and casings, but were not able to locate any, Plevy said.
