Takoma Park Issues RFP for Redevelopment of Recreation Center Property

The City of Takoma Park has released a request for proposals to redevelop the site of the Takoma Park Recreation Center at 7315 New Hampshire Ave.

“The intent of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to promote the reuse of the Property in a fashion that will achieve the City’s objectives, including the development of a new recreation facility, expansion of high-quality, stable housing opportunities along the New Hampshire Avenue corridor, and increased tax generation,” according to the RFP web page.

Interested parties must register online with the Housing and Community Development department in order to receive any future information and submit a proposal.

The site, approximately 1.86 acres, is eligible for incentives and programs including the Maryland Opportunity Zone, Long Branch/Takoma Park Enterprise Zone, and the National Capital Strategic Economic Development Area.

More information about the RFP is available on the city’s bids and contracts page. Proposals are due by 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2023.

Ira Kowler, Takoma Park’s economic development manager, is the primary contact and can be reached at [email protected].
