Police Still Seeking to Identify Suspect in Fatal Shooting

Takoma Park Police are again asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in a July 16 fatal shooting at Advance Auto Parts.

According to a news release, a cash reward of up to $10,000 is being offered to anyone that provides information leading to the arrest and/or the indictment of those responsible for the shooting.

“The victim, [Nurhusen Muhammed Hamid], was working as a mobile mechanic on the Advance Auto Parts parking lot in the 6300 block of New Hampshire Ave.,” police spokesperson Cathy Plevy said. “An unknown suspect approached the victim and shot him. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The suspect fled the parking lot on foot onto Eastern Ave and entered a waiting white in colored SUV, then fled the area into the District of Columbia on New Hampshire Ave.”

Plevy said that the suspect is described as a black male, wearing a white tee shirt, dark baseball cap, and jeans.
