Takoma Park Police Offering Home Security Survey to Residents at No Charge

The Takoma Park Police Department is offering residents the opportunity to have them do a free home security survey, according to a community advisory.

The survey is intended for an officer to come and look for possible easy ways for a burglar to enter the home, “identify possible improvements to the physical security of your residence and to review personal safety and security habits,” the advisory reads.

The officer also will review personal safety and security habits with a goal of decreasing “the likelihood that you might be victimized by a crime,” the advisory continues.

The offer is for city residents only by appointment and would take about an hour.

Evening appointments are available; appointments can be made by calling the department at 301.270.1100.
