Police Investigating Burglary at Brazilian Bakery

Takoma Park Police say they are investigating a burglary that occurred at Brazilian Bakery early Monday morning.

“On January 3, Takoma Park Police responded to the 7600 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Brazilian Bakery) for a commercial burglary that occurred sometime on January 3 between 3:00 and 3:30 AM,” reads a community advisory. “Unknown suspect(s) broke into the business and stole property.”

Brazilian Bakery posted about the burglary on the shop’s Instagram account. “Dear Friends – we wanted to let you know that unfortunately, we had a break-in. Thankfully no one was hurt but our door was damaged and cash and supplies were stolen. We are working with the @takomaparkmd @takomaparkpd and have repaired the door. This is a reminder that times are hard in our communities but we will work even harder to keep [pursuing] our dreams. We hope you visit soon! We would love to see your friendly faces.”
