Purple Line work to affect traffic on Wayne Avenue next week

Graphic from Maryland Transit Administration

Purple Line work will cause lane closures next week on Wayne Avenue at Manchester Station near Plymouth Street.

Large trailers will be delivering the components of a tower construction crane that will be erected at the site of the station, where a tunnel will be built.

The Purple Line Transit Partners anticipate periodic short-term closings of one lane on Wayne between the hours of 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Jan. 23-26, depending on the weather.

In the meantime, WSSC is continuing to relocate water lines along Arliss Street in Long Branch. A temporary driveway has been cut from Flower Avenue into the Giant parking lot to provide easier access to the shopping area.
