A Patient First urgent care center will open at 8206 Georgia Ave., replacing a Mattress Warehouse store.
The company, headquartered in Richmond, Va. and founded in 1981, has 73 locations in the Mid-Atlantic region, including one at 8601 16th St. in Silver Spring.
The care centers provide urgent and primary care from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. 365 days. On-site services include x-rays, lab testing, prescriptions filled and occupational health services.
Patients can walk in at their convenience to receive treatment, and also can request, in advance, to see a particular physician.
In Maryland, the centers participate in 25 insurance plans for either primary care, urgent care of both. The company also offers a self-pay program for patients who do not have health insurance.
