Fatal Collision in Montgomery Hills: Victim’s Identity Released

A pedestrian was fatally struck on Tuesday night by a vehicle in the 9500 block of Georgia Ave. in Montgomery Hills, according to Montgomery County police.

Around 8:04 p.m. Tuesday, officers from the 3rd District and Montgomery County Fire & Rescue personnel responded to the scene following reports of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a gray 2020 Honda CR-V was heading north on Georgia Ave. when the vehicle struck an adult male pedestrian near Flora Lane. The driver remained present at the site of the incident.

Initial reports suggested a possible involvement of a second vehicle in the collision, but these claims were found to be unsubstantiated, according to an MCPD press release.

The pedestrian, identified as 27-year-old Khalid Shakir Scriven from Gaithersburg, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
