Mail Truck Driver Receives Highest Award From National Safety Council

Silver Spring mail truck driver Carter Scott has received the National Safety Council’s Million Mile Award for his exceptional safety record.

Scott, who works at the Suburban Maryland Processing and Distribution Center in Gaithersburg, received the National Safety Council (NSC) award for his outstanding safe driving record. The NSC Million Mile Award is given to drivers who have driven 1 million miles or 30 years without preventable incidents.

This year, 171 drivers from across the country received recognition, according to a press release.

Scott approaches each day as a professional driver, mindful that he represents the USPS brand and his community. “I drive the postal vehicle just as I drive my personal vehicle,” Scott said.

The Million Mile Club is part of the National Safety Council’s Safe Driver Award program; the Safe Driver Award is known as the top honor for professional safe driving in the nation.
