Part of Nolte Park Set to Close Monday for ADA Improvements

Part of Nolte Local Park is set to close on Monday for additional ADA improvements, according to Montgomery Parks.

The “back parking lot” off of Easley St. will close on Monday, December 4 until the end of January 2024 for the second phase of improvements, following the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This will involve replacing the asphalt for the trail/parking lot, installing concrete ADA sidewalks, and adding benches and picnic tables.

Residents are advised to use caution around the work area.

Nolte Local Park, situated at 200 Denver Rd. in East Silver Spring, has undergone recent improvements, including Phase 1 ADA enhancements to the existing trail, as well as new ADA access to the softball field and basketball court. Additionally, in 2019, the park saw the removal of the activity building and the establishment of a community garden.
