Holy Cross Health Opens New Primary Care Practice

Holy Cross Health Partners has opened a new primary care practice at The Leggett senior apartment community in downtown Silver Spring.

The Leggett, a 267-unit, 16-story building that opened earlier this year at 1315 Apple Ave., provides affordable and market-rate housing for residents aged 62 and older. The apartment building is part of Elizabeth Square, a neighborhood in downtown Silver Spring that features a mix of residential, commercial, and recreational spaces for people of all ages.

The Elizabeth Square complex sits just two blocks away from the Silver Spring Metro Station, near several bus routes, and is a short walk from downtown shopping, dining, and entertainment. Additionally, the upcoming Silver Spring Recreation and Aquatic Center, set to open early next year, is also situated within the complex.

The new Holy Cross Health Partners location, the primary care group’s fourth, includes dedicated space for health education and fitness classes. The office provides same and next-day appointments, virtual visits, on-site bloodwork, health education, and an on-call provider available after hours and on weekends to address medical concerns.

“Improving access to healthcare services is key to advancing health equity,” Holy Cross Health Network president Annice Cody said in a press release. “We are thrilled to open our new primary care practice with integrated community health education in The Leggett. Partnering with HOC to expand healthcare to residents and the surrounding community offers a great opportunity to enhance the well-being of the vibrant community in downtown Silver Spring.”

Chelsea Andrews, president of The Leggett’s developer Housing Opportunities of Montgomery County, expressed excitement about the new Holy Cross Health Partners practice at The Leggett.

“HOC is elated with the opening of the new Holy Cross Health Partners practice at The Leggett,” Andrews said. “Incorporating health care services within HOC’s brand new senior apartment community in the heart of Silver Spring provides area residents with two much-needed resources: High-quality senior affordable housing and top-notch medical care. Both are critical to helping the community, especially older adults, thrive.”

Holy Cross Health Partners in Silver Spring at Elizabeth Square is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
