Overnight Purple Line Construction to Begin Monday at Silver Spring Transit Center

Purple Line construction is scheduled to begin Monday night at the Silver Spring Transit Center in downtown Silver Spring, according to the county’s Department of Transportation.

Work will be performed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday until September 8.

Riders should expect delays on Ride On Routes 9, 12, and 16 when arriving at Silver Spring Transit Center. Ride On Routes 1, 2, and 28 will not be impacted when leaving the Transit Center.

As part of the project, crews will also implement overnight lane closures and pedestrian detours on Colesville Road between Wayne Ave. and East-West Highway.
