Suspect Sought in Burglary of NOAA News & Valet Shop

Montgomery County Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in the May burglary of the NOAA News & Valet shop in downtown Silver Spring.

Police were called to the shop in the 1300 block of East-West Highway at approximately 8 a.m. on May 30 for the report of a burglary that had occurred earlier. In a preliminary investigation conducted by detectives, it was determined that between Friday, May 26, and Tuesday, May 30, the suspect broke a lower window at the store with a rock, entered the building, and stole an undisclosed amount of merchandise, according to an MCPD press release.

Police describe the suspect as a Black male, approximately 50 years old, 5 feet, 10 inches tall, 180 pounds, with facial hair. He is wearing a hooded black jacket, white skull cap, camouflage pants, and gray athletic shoes.
