Lil Wayne will bring his “Welcome to Tha Carter” Tour to downtown Silver Spring later this year, as part of a spring tour that will take him across much of the United States.
The multi-platinum, Grammy award-winning rapper will stop on April 18 at The Fillmore Silver Spring. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday via lilwayneofficial.com and livenation.com.
The “Welcome To Tha Carter Tour”, presented by Live Nation, is being sponsored by Rolling Loud and Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment record label.
Rolling Stone reports that the “Welcome to Tha Carter” Tour announcement comes as Lil Wayne prepares to receive a special honor at the Recording Academy’s annual Black Music Collective event on Thursday, three days before the 2023 Grammy Awards. The four-time Grammy winner will receive the Global Impact Award, along with celebrated peers Missy Elliott and Dr. Dre.
