Silver Spring Man Charged With Sex Trafficking, Prostitution

A Silver Spring man has been arrested and charged with numerous counts of sex trafficking and prostitution, and detectives believe there may be more victims.

Pedro DeJesus Perez Oliveros, 34, was arrested on November 15 following an investigation by the Vice and Intelligence Unit. The Vice and Intelligence Division began investigating a female victim’s forced employment as a prostitute in September of 2022, according to an MCPD press release.

According to the victim, she met Perez Oliveros through an advertisement on social media that advertised cleaning jobs. The victim was told that she could earn extra income by working as an escort in addition to the cleaning work and could stop doing so whenever she wished. She worked for Perez Oliveros and stated that she wanted to stop working for him; he responded by telling her that to leave she must pay him $10,000.

Perez Oliveros was identified as the suspect, and a second female victim was also identified. Perez Oliveros may have hired and possibly victimized additional women, and detectives are asking them to come forward.

Perez Oliveros is being held without bond.
