Winning Lottery Tickets Sold in Silver Spring, Takoma Park; Both Unclaimed

Winning lottery tickets were sold in Silver Spring and Takoma Park last week but have not been claimed, according to the Maryland Lottery.

A $50,000 Bonus Match 5 ticket was sold on Dec. 27 at the Fenton Citgo at 8333 Fenton St. in downtown Silver Spring; a $10,000 Mega Millions ticket was sold on Dec. 27 at the 7-Eleven at 1301 University Blvd. in Takoma Park.

Both tickets have gone unclaimed as of Jan. 3, according to a Maryland Lottery press release. The first Mega Millions drawing of 2023, held Tuesday night, did not result in a winner, which means $940 million will be up for grabs in Friday’s drawing.

Maryland Lottery encourages players to check their tickets by scanning them at any Lottery retailer or by using the Lottery’s mobile app. Winners of drawing games have 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes, and scratch-off winners have 182 days from the end date of the game to claim their prizes.
