New Veterinarian Opens Practice in Four Corners

A new veterinarian/owner with new management has opened her practice in the former home of Four Corners Animal Hospital at 105 University Blvd. W., according to a press release.

Meridian Veterinary Services is owned and operated by Dr. Leanne Lipton, who has more than 20 years of experience in traditional veterinary medicine. She also considers her practice to be a holistic one for dog and cats, with a focus on areas such as good nutrition.

Her practice will offer basic services such as exams and vaccinations, along with dental care, biopsies, exploratory surgeries and other traditional services.

In addition, Lipton offers alternative therapies including acupuncture, chiropractic therapy, Chinese therapeutic massages, herbs and vitamins and supplements, and homeopathic treatments.

“There’s a shortage of veterinarians and veterinary technicians nationwide, which is leading to long wait times for pet owners who need veterinary care for their dogs and cats,” Lipton said in the release.

“This inability to get veterinary appointments without waiting weeks or months stems from a sharp increase in new pets, closures of veterinary hospitals during the pandemic, and a shortage of veterinary staff,” she continued, adding that her services add another option for pet owners.

Meridian is open Monday–Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The phone number for appointments is 301.593.3749.
