The Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation is now accepting applications from county restaurants for a third round of grants to help those businesses survive the pandemic.
The County Council has authorized another $3.8 million appropriation from the state to MCEDC. The organization will award grants of up to $10,000 each to eligible local restaurants, food and beverage establishments.
Grant funds can be used for pandemic-related expenses including: working capital such as rent, payroll, and job training; purchase of equipment and services to expand outdoor dining such as tents and heaters; infrastructure improvements such as HVAC system upgrades; technology to support carry out and delivery; purchase of PPE and disposable food containers and utensils, according to an announcement from MCEDC.
Restaurants that didn’t receive funding from the first two rounds of grants are eligible for up to $10,000 and will get priority consideration. Those that did win earlier grants may apply for up to another $5,000. The grants will be distributed to eligible applicants by June 30.
