Most public offices, and some businesses, will be closed Wednesday for the Fourth of July holiday.

All county offices and libraries will be closed, as will be state offices and courts.

The county’s liquor stores, however, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There will be no trash or of recycling pick up on the holiday. The schedule for pick up will shift one day—Wednesday’s pickup will take place on Thursday, Thursday’s on Friday, etc. The Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station also will be closed.

The Department of Recreation’s administrative offices, senior centers and recreation centers will not be open. However, the outdoor pools in Long Branch and at the Martin Luther King Jr. center will be open.

The TRiPS Commuter Store in Silver Spring will not be open, and Ride On will operate on Saturday schedule on July 4. Service information for WMATA busses and Metro, is available here. Parking in county garages, surface lots and at curbside meters will be free.

Also, the Montgomery County Planning offices will be closed Wednesday and the Planning Board, which normally meets on Thursday, will not meet July 5.

In addition, we’ve learned that Seoul Food in Takoma Park will be closed July 2, 3 and 4, and All Set Restaurant and Bar will be closed on the Fourth.

Lina’s Diner and Bar will close from July 2-8 for summer holiday and reopen July 9.

In addition, Denizens Brewing Co. will close in order to join three other breweries celebrating Freedom Fest in Takoma Park.

Finally, Lyft will offer free rides (up to $15) from 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 4 though 4 a.m. Thursday, July 5 with a code from Sober Ride®.
