Concern for Missing Mother, Infant from Silver Spring

Detectives from the county’s Special Investigations Division (SVID) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 1-year-old from Silver Spring and her 29-year-old mother.

“Ziona Amaya and her mother, Sandy Barrientos were last seen on November 28 at their residence on Plymouth Street in Silver Spring.,” reads an MCPD news release. “Amaya is an infant and has brown eyes and brown hair. She was last seen wearing a pink jacket, green pants, pink sneakers and a pink hat. Barrientos is 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs approximately 120 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. Barrientos was last seen wearing a long gray peacoat, black pants, white and green sneakers and a pink knit hat. Barrientos was last seen pushing Amaya in a red car-style stroller.

“Police and family are concerned for their welfare. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Ziona Amaya and Sandy Barrientos is asked to call the police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000 (24-hour line) or the SVID at 240-773-5400.”
